Here I will disclose the true nature of "Sector 7 Hath Wrought the Angel"

Firstly, I would like to say that I respect, admire and love the music of Nobou Uematsu.

This is a fact. However, I am bothered by the extreme lack of mental fortitude found within many of the mindless fans that hang on Square/Enix's collective teet.

Secondly, I would like to state that this rant is not meant to be taken offensively.

To start I will say that, this remix is a satire. It was not originally meant to be a serious remix by any means.

This remix started as a passive aggressive method of taking out my frustration on early listeners seemingly obsessed with FF7's soundtrack and this song in particular. This frustration was a result of a poorly recieved mockup of the main theme from Final Fantasy 5.

I say it was poorly recieved, because when I posted it in OCR's work in progress forum someone, I can't remember who posted saying something to the effect of, "wtf!1 everytime I see FF in these boards, I click on the link. Its NEVER what I want it to be. Why cant someone remix 'One Winged Angel?' Honestly it's the only track worth listening to in final fantasy anyway."

There was at least one other person who agreed with the first poster, and others who went off on tangents unrelated to anything to do with anything but OWA.

A month prior I happened to have stumbled upon the so-called choir samples for OWA through a file sharing community. I thought I'd have a bit of a laugh pushing out the most cookie cutter dance groove OWA track I could. I wasn't going to finish it, I was going to leave the song unfinished just to drive them crazy.

To my absolute horror, I discovered that not only did my satire fly under the radar, but it was well recieved and its completion encouraged. Sadly, I caved into the steadily accumulating demands (read: inbox rape) to finish this, and proudly if somewhat surrepitisiously bring you a piece I consider a real personal achievement. (I only wore earplugs during the first half of this pieces creation.)

I created this originally as a satire on the popularity of this particular game's soundtrack. I for one really appreciated the music from nearly all the Final Fantasy OSTs, not solely from the 7th installment as .

Not to say its not a worthy composition or soundtrack even, far from it.  The problem is that many people really stopped short of wanting to really explore a great deal of the other obsession worthy material this great composer had imagined. This ignorance was carried out in favor of repeatedly listening to "One Winged Angel" and proclaiming themselves Nobou's Uematsu's biggest fans, second cousins, illegitimate daughter's etc...

As one of many fans of Uematsu's it always bothered me to see such fanatical ignorance running rampant all over the internet.
